Happy Birthday Noah

He loves his camera from Nana and Gran dad. It's really cool. Thank you.

Noah with his cake from Babu and Jiji.

They took him shopping and have ordered a school desk, and the leather school bag for next year.

The theme for the party yesterday was Scary and Spooky.

I made the Mummy cake and Ghostly cupcakes.

We played Zombie Tag, Wrap up the Mummy, Bat Treasure Hunt, a Tug of War, Dress up Relay, Pass the Parcel. It was great fun.

The weather was brilliant so everyone was warm and happy.

Noah received a fantastic Lego set from his friends.

Noah the Mummy with his friend Akihiro.

Getting ready to blow out the candles.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and presents.

Can you believe our boy is SIX?

Progress Reports

On the 28th of September Tyler and I visited a friend for lunch. I told a couple of friends who were there that Tyler couldn't walk. I think he was a bit miffed because shortly after that he said "I can walk!!!" and he's been off like a rocket ever since.

His words include "Haaaoooo" which is hello. "HHHHHhhhhhh" which is yes please. "Oooah" which is Noah. You can be reasonably assured of a wave goodbye and often hello. He also likes to wave at passing trucks and is very excited when he sees the kindergarten bus. Noah is too come to think of it! Tyler follows instructions such as sit down. And in the evenings if he' s tired he walks himself off to the bathroom. When it's time to put his socks or shoes on he lifts up his feet very cooperatively. He loves visiting and ransacking Noah's room and is semi-officially banned from it. When outside he likes to open and close the letterbox.

Noah is getting fairly proficient at cartwheels. At school they have been learning how to jump rope in teams. It's not his favourite thing! He is still very much into drawing and creating. He also loves reading. He can read by himself now.

He's looking forward to Halloween at the end of this month and then his birthday in November. For Christmas we three are heading to Guam for some fun in the sun. And the world's largest K-Mart! We fly out December 24th. Noah is most excited and is doing a great job encouraging me to budget.

A few more photos

Noah and I put this together a couple of weeks ago for beside my bed.

Here's Tyler doing some digging. He likes trucks and cars.

His new hat.

He loves getting Noah's school things out. This is Noah's thermos for water.

Tyler took his first step.

He got geared up in the morning with his new sneakers.

He practiced "No hands" quite a bit first (on his knees).

He waited until Takeshi got home to actually do it.

He took one step!

Stand up and be counted

Yes he can do it!
Not the best picture but my camera has had to go in for repairs, this was taken on the mobile.
I didn't want to be too far away in case he fell.
He started doing this yesterday.

At Universal Studios

It was a hot day so Tyler is swigging on water here.

Having a sit down for a minute.

Plied with icecream and beer, he's good to go (Tak).

Fresh off the Jaws ride.

You won't want to miss this!

A big day out

Last Sunday the three boys went to a local zoo / theme park. It was a beautiful day and they had a great time.

On the ferris wheel.

Bumper boats!

When they got home Tyler decided to start crawling! We were so pleased it was a Sunday as Tak was home and got to see it. He is 10 1/2 months old so it's probably high time he started moving on his own.

He loves the laptop

He is very motivated by the laptop. It is often on this chair during the day which is forcing Tyler to try and stand up. See how he's up on one leg!

Play me a song Mr Piano Man

Tyler and his xylophone. He's pretty musical at this point. Loves to sing, clap and wave his arms as well as bash out tunes on the xylophone, drums, tambourine and marracas.

The three of us

On our way to kindergarten last week via the airport with our friends who were staying.

Ten months old

He has two teeth.
He has just learnt how to sit himself up and is determinedly trying to crawl.
He's quite mobile as a bottom shuffler.
Combat rolling over and over also gets him where he needs to go.

He's overjoyed and mummy is hysterical upon finding him sitting up in his cot!

The feet tuck under and he wiggles to get going - then belly flops face first onto the floor.

Tyler playing in an old basket

He's so big he only just fits in here. He didn't actually sleep in here but Noah did when he was born.

Little T

Fresh from his bath. Look how his face is clearing up.

The other two think it's hilarious wriggling for photos so there are never any clear shots. Plus my camera likes to focus on objects in the distance ...sigh.

Brain surgery anyone?

Dr. Miya B performed a gruesome lobotomy right here in our own kitchen! Isn't it interesting how the removed brain looks remarkably like raspberry jelly.

Grass is always greener

We can finally say we have a lawn! After a somewhat dubious winter the grass is finally shooting up all over. This is a particularly nice patch of soft green grass. Tyler was enraptured.

A fragile delivery from Costco

The red sticker on the box says "FRAGILE". I got quite a surprise when I opened the box and these two kids leapt out.

Kiwi Kids love Marmite Sandwiches

Yep, he loves his marmite sammies despite having no teeth.

All in a day

It was quite warm and sunny so both boys were in their new polo shirts.

Tyler helped with washing today. I was thinking about putting him in the stroller, which was in my boot, then I decided to just put him straight in the boot! He was happy.

It was a beautiful day. Noah had his school trip to the nearby zoo. There were giraffes, lions, tigers and even a dolphin show. He was also pleased to see some penguins. He's really into animals right now since he got the Madagascar DVD.

Wonderful Wonderful News

I'm going to be an aunty! (again) I am so happy!

Sunny days Rainy Days

The boys both love reading. Noah is fascinated by this one about ships that Sally and Tore gave him for his birthday. Tyler is a having a go with Richard Scarry. It was a lovely sunny afternoon in Noah's room.

Then the rain returned and it's cold! Little T had to roll the sleeves up on Noah's old Bob The Builder raincoat so he could drop Noah off at kindy this morning.

I like your shoes too

My picture has arrived from England! It's an original gliclee print, which is a new art medium done by computer with fancy printers. It's signed and dated by the artist, Askey. It's a limited edition! I had to buy the frame myself but I pretty happy with the result.

The picture is titled "I like your shoes too"

The View from our Window

Each day as I walk to and from Tyler's room I can't help but love the view of our neighbour's garden. It is so well planned in terms of seasonal interest. It's really simple but so stunning. I love the colours which are mainly just greens.
